Final Design

Here's a few money shots o
f our final design.

Development

This blog will show the development of my threshold design. The initial idea was to create an experience through a tunnel-like threshold. But, after talking to people, I've started to realize that a threshold has a totally different concept. It is the point/moment of change that is more important rather than the journey.

After this, we were told to collaborate with others. Being in a group when designing s threshold becomes easier as ideas are sha
red and improved from other's opinions.
I got together with Kim and Woomin and this is what we came up with.
The linkage between all levels was our threshold. But after talking to Judy, we were told that this wasn't such a great idea as it doesn't connect the courtyard and the studio.

Threshold

We were able to build on a new island for this project. As soon as the group finished the architecture building, bunch of us started working on our threshold design.

I kept the original sculptie I made in 3Ds Max and I used the same texture as my office table.

The following photos shows the difference of the interior space compared to the exterior space created by the sculptie.

3Ds Max

I used 3Ds Max to create these vague sculpties and was able to put it in secondlife. But, the shape was not exactly the same once it was done as shown below.
