Pat's treshold project revealed a new concept of the threshold for me. I believe the idea of dissolving the hierarchy of the building through a restructuring of the buildings geometry was not achieved. The hierarchy of the building was infact impowered by the modern restructuring of the buidling. Each moment of the building was strictly controlled and only revealed to the user when they reached certain areas. This structured space and vision within the design. For me this did not have a negative impact on the design concept even though it may have been unintentional. Infact the major strength in this design was its summersault of the common impression of the threshold. In this project the threshold is not a thin line between two areas or even a revealed boundry. The threshold is the infrastructure of the building designating space, vision and ruthlessly controlling the connection between interior spaces and the courtyard. Very refreshing:)
